HILIGHT TRIBE’S 5th album, LIMBOLAND is an alternative musical voyage around the globe. With this new opus, the creators of the “ natural trance” phenomenon introduce their fans to their world music sound. For the first time, we hear vocals interweaving with full-on trance, a crossover from dance floor beats to unplugged roots music. The album is inspired by the musical traditions of Brazil, Tibet, India, Senegal… (just to name a few) as well as modern styles such as reggae, psychedelic folk and trip hop

Each of the five musicians contributed his own touch to the project, this cooperative effort was enhanced by the participation of a West African griot friend on the song “Free”. The track “Peace” for example, is (guitarist) Greg’s ragga-jungle composition, while “Giovani” and “Kuku” are collaborations between Roots and Ludo (percussionists). In contrast the title song “Limboland” unites all the musicians in a psychedelic journey to a supernatural world as illustrated by the album cover art. “Tso Pema” was conceived with the help of Lamas and Buddhist practitioners living in exile from Tibet.

The LP consists of 12 songs ending with “A Brief History of Time” a sonic patchwork by Seb the group’s drumset player, alias Dr. A.

Of course LIMBOLAND includes many natural trance grooves faithful to HILIGHT TRIBE’S previous albums where bass, kick and guitar mingle with tribal instruments and the BPM hits 150 blasting the dance floor!
